Do you need a map of our water pipes?
Our Water Mapping Team can help you if you need a map showing where our drinking water pipes are. These maps are sometimes called 'asset plans'. They show where our pipes are in public roads and footpaths.
What the maps show
Our maps only show the pipes we manage. They don't show:
• sewer pipes – you'll need to contact your sewage provider for these
• pipes on private land – this includes the pipe that brings water to your property and your water meter.
Finding your water meter or stop tap
A stop tap is a valve that controls the flow of water into your property. It's usually under the kitchen sink.

Map scales and sizes
We usually create maps electronically at a scale of 1:1250 on A4 paper. But we can also provide them on A3, A2, and A1 paper if you need a different size. We'll use a larger size if the map covers more than one property.
How long it takes
We aim to get back to your request within three to four working days. Once you've paid, we'll create your map and email it to you within 15 minutes.
How much it costs
Maps are free for statutory undertakers. If you're working on behalf of a statutory undertaker, please provide evidence.
A statutory undertaker is a body such as a water company, gas company, or electricity company that has legal powers to carry out certain works, such as laying pipes or cables.
If you're not a statutory undertaker, there is a charge for the map. We'll call you on the number you provide to take your payment.
