Work to begin to reinforce Preston Hall water network

22nd September 2025

South East Water will soon be carrying out a £180,000 project to install new pipes at Preston Hall, Aylesford.

The drinking water supplier will be installing 255 metres of new water mains Admiral Moore Drive and Preston Hall to support the network as the community grows in the area.

Work is due to start on Monday, 29 September and is expected to take approximately 11 weeks to complete.

South East Water Project Manager, Jeremy Dufour, said: “This is an important project for us to improve our network.

“As the community grows, we need to reinforce our network to maintain supplies now and in the future.

“By carrying out this work now, we will be supporting our existing and future customers, as well as increasing resilience in the event of bursts or leakage.

“As with any work, we know there may be some disruption for residents and businesses locally and we apologise for this, but please be assured we will work as quickly and safely as possible to try to finish the project sooner and minimise disruption.

“Work will take place during normal working hours, but there may also be some activity at evenings and weekends.”

As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and the workforce, small sections of Admiral Moore Drive and Preston Hall will be closed in phases and parking will be suspended along parts of the roads, with a diversion in place via Hall Road, the A20 (London Road) and Culpeper Road during different stages of the project.

Access to the Royal British Legion Village will be maintained, but the direction vehicles may need to come from may vary due to the closure.
