We’ve completed a £50,000 project to reinforce the water main network in Tonbridge by laying a new pipeline in Avebury Avenue and Barden Road.
This new main will ensure that the pressure and supply of top-quality drinking water to the area is maintained as the community grows.
Work started on Monday 11 September and took approximately seven weeks to complete.

Project completed
We’re pleased to say this this project is now complete. We have returned the working area to its original state and have now left the site. Thank you to the local community for your patience while we carried out this work.

Due to the location of a gas main, we have had to redesign the route for our new water main. For safety, we liaised with SGN to confirm we were able to continue with the work. We have installed a bypass and will be looking to return the road to its original state by the end of this week.

Work is continuing to reinforce the network in Tonbridge. This week we completed a connection onto the existing network and moved the working area to the final phase of work.
