As part of the company’s £433 million investment in infrastructure between 2020 and 2025, we’re investing £250,000 to reinforce the water supply network in Conningbrook Avenue, Ashford.
In addition to laying approximately 90m of new water main, we’ll also be installing supply equipment to allow us to keep top quality drinking water flowing to our customers as the community continues to grow.
Work began on Monday 6 March and is expected to take 12 weeks to complete. Our team will work hard to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.
FAQs
Access to properties will be maintained at all times, however there may be a short wait if we are working in front of your property. We will maintain access in and out of Conningbrook Avenue using multiway traffic lights.
As the work will require connections to the existing network, there will be a short interruption in supply. We will notify you well in advance when this is due to happen.

To ensure we can keep the community and passing motorists safe from our working area, we'll be installing temporary, three-way traffic lights on Conningbrook Avenue from 13 April.
The lights will be operational between 9am and 2pm and will be manually controlled by an operative. We are very sorry for any additional disruption this may cause.

We’ve installed 63m to date and have excavated trial holes to establish the location of other utilities. We're preparing for a connection to the existing network this week on the evening of Thursday 30 March.

We’ve nearly completed excavating the trench in Conningbrook Avenue and this week will be installing this section of new main. We also completed a connection to the existing network last week

Work is underway to excavate the trench required to lay the new water main. We'll be undertaking a connection to our existing network on Monday 16 March using 'under pressure' techniques. This will allow us to do this work without interrupting supplies to our customers.
