Key facts:

Location: Admiral Moore Drive and Preston Hall

Work: Installing 255m of water pipes to reinforce the network

Starts: Monday, 29 September

Duration: Approximately 11 weeks

Investment: More than £180,000

With ongoing development in the Preston Hall area of Aylesford, we’re looking to reinforce our water supply network.

As a result, we’ll be making some improvements to the water network in your community.

This work will take place in two phases at Preston Hall, Aylesford.

What’s going to happen and when?

We’re investing more than £180,000 to lay approximately 255 metres of water pipes in two phases at Preston Hall, Aylesford.

The majority of the pipeline will be laid in Admiral Moore Drive and Preston Hall.

We’ll be starting work on Monday, 29 September. Our teams will work weekdays and some Saturday mornings. We may also work on some Sundays.

We expect the work to take approximately 11 weeks. We’ll do our best to get the work done faster if we can.

How will this affect you?

We’re sorry for the disruption this work is going to cause – we know it’s inconvenient. We’ll do our absolute best to keep it to a minimum.

We’ll be working in sections along Admiral Moore Drive and Preston Hall. This means we’ll need to close the road between the junction with Hall Road and Preston Hall, with parking suspended along Admiral Moore Drive during this time. Focusing our work on these smaller sections at a time means you will still be able to get to and from your property wherever we’re working.

Diversion route

While the road closure is in place on Admiral Moore Drive and Preston Hall respectively, diversion routes will be in place via Culpeper Road, the A20 (London Road) and Hall Road.

Please see below for the diversion routes for the different sections of our work within the Royal British Legion Village.

Getting to and from properties

Customers will be able to get to and from their home or business during this work. The direction customers enter from may not be their usual route or it may change as we move along the road, with the diversion route in place.

Project updates

Monday, 10 November, 2025:

Our work to lay 255 metres of new water pipes along Admiral Moore Drive and Preston Hall is progressing well.

We will be working outside Preston Hall from Wednesday, 12 November, 2025.

This will restrict the allocated parking on the square between Preston Hall and Thomas Road, and a diversion route will be in place via Admiral Moore Drive.

There will be no access to Thomas Road from Culpeper Road during the course of the work, with Culpeper Road only open for access to Queen Elizabeth Court.

Thursday, 30 October, 2025:

We have now laid 180 metres of water pipes and completed connections at the junction of Hall Road.

We're now returning the road to a safe and drivable condition, before moving to re-open the road at the junction of Hall Road later this week.

The road closure will then move further along Admiral Moore Drive on Friday, with no through access and the diversion routes remaining in place.

Monday, 13 October, 2025:

We have now completed the first connection as part of our project to lay around 255 metres of new pipes.

The new pipeline will now be laid along Admiral Moore Drive, before we move on to work outside Preston Hall.

We'll provide further updates as the project progresses.
