We’ve carried out essential maintenance on the drinking water storage reservoir site in Liss as part of an ongoing programme to ensure we can continue to supply the community with top-quality drinking water.

What happened and when?

We worked within our Cathedral Pines drinking water storage reservoir site to complete essential maintenance work, starting from the end of November/early December 2024.

Work took place during normal working hours, with some activity at weekends to help get the work completed.

How did this affect customers?

The work took place within our site, although there was some additional noise and traffic in the area while we carried out this work.

Signage was placed on the road for the duration of the project and local residents were able to get to and from their home during the work, although parking near to the storage reservoir was impacted at times.

We’re sorry for any disruption this work caused and thank residents for their patience and understanding.

The work we did

Our Cathedral Pines drinking water storage reservoir is used to store drinking water before it flows to taps nearby.

The reservoir is made up of two separate storage tanks and this project meant we were able to take each one out of service, one after another, to complete our maintenance work without interrupting the water supply to customers.

The work included replacing the roof on the second tank on site and installing overland pipework and additional pumps to increase the resilience of the site.
