We’re planning to carry out some investigation work in Hunton, Kent, to help us plan a route for a new water main in the area.
This investigation forms part of our plan to replace 880 metres of old water main in East Street, between the junctions of Hunton Hill and Redwall Lane, in the summer. This main has burst 21 times in 12 years, causing frequent disruption to residents.
Our team will be digging some trial holes (small pits) in the road to assess the state of the ground and determine the best route for the new pipe.
While we are digging these trial holes, we will need to close East Street between Hunton Hill and Redwall Lane junctions to keep everyone safe.
There is a diversion route which has been agreed with Kent Highways and this will be clearly signposted. Access will still be available for homeowners and local businesses.
This work is planned to take place between 4 April and 13 April.
We are really sorry for any disruption this vital work may cause.
