Key facts
Location: The Street (A262) and Chapel Lane
Work: Replacing 1.1km of water main
Starts: Monday 10 November
Duration: Approx. five months
Investment: Approx. £850k
When will work start, and how long will it take?
We're replacing more than one kilometre of ageing, unreliable water main in the area to reduce the amount of water lost through leaks.
We’ll be starting this project on Monday 10 November, and expect to take around five months to complete the entire work. Our team will work quickly to complete the project sooner, if possible.
You may see us around in the week before the project begins as we set up a central working area for the team.
Will the road be closed?
As we move through Chapel Lane, a rolling road closure will be in place for the majority of this project. This means access to parts of Chapel Lane will change as work moves along the road.
We’ll work on short sections at a time, and will return the road to its original state before moving along the road to the next section.
During some of the work, we will be putting in temporary traffic lights at the junction of Chapel Lane and The Street (A262) as we install some vital equipment.
We’re sorry for the disruption this work is going to cause – we know it’s inconvenient. We’ll do our absolute best to keep it to a minimum.
This webpage will be updated as work progresses.
