Our approach

Our vision "to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for" reflects how we behave.

We aim to ensure all our 912 employees are fairly treated, highly motivated and well regarded.

Our key performance areas around health and safety, security and compliance with other statutory obligations.

However we aim to go beyond this. Throughout this website you'll find examples of how we aim to be a good neighbour and take account of the views of our stakeholders.

We try to ensure our local social and economic impact is positive, developing strategies to benefit all those with an interest in our business.

Our employees are encouraged to make a health and safety pledge

As part of our Thrive 365! health, safety and wellbeing strategy our employees are making a safety pledge

Health and safety

Health and safety is a priority for us and we've developed a new 'Thrive 365!' strategy which also puts wellbeing a key part of our business commitment to our employees and the partners we work with.

We aim to have zero breaches of health and safety regulations during the year.

Our commitment to safety is seen in our strategy which encourages everyone to embrace the twin themes of the need for safe people and safe working.

Other statutory obligations

Our outcome is that we have no breaches of other statutory obligations and licence conditions. Breaches are defined as the number of prosecutions and enforcement actions during the year.

In May 2016 the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) issued an enforcement order relating to our data reporting. Following implementation of corrective actions the DWI revoked the order in May 2017 confirming that it was satisfied the issue had been resolved.
